Four days on a boat in port
December 5 2013
The weekend that just passed was a long, wonderful one. I’ve been in Atlanta for the holiday and a few shoots. Friday I piled into one of two rental cars with one of my best friends, and a few other friends, and their family. We were to drive to Amelia Island where their family’s beautiful boat was docked, to move it to Charleston, SC. Upon arrival it turned out something was wrong with the boat, and we had to stay in port for the four days until help could arrive to find a solution on Monday.
We certainly made lemonade of the lemons served us. The eight of us had a wonderful time exploring Fernandina Beach and staying on the boat. Some of our wandering included my camera, as well as some of our time on the boat. Here you’ll find just a few of the photos I took while we were in Florida.
Our last night led to a tip off from a lovely lady named Amber, that Pippi Longstocking’s house from the 1988 movie was located blocks from the marina we were calling home. So, on the last day I set off to take a photograph of Villa Villekulla! I had a blast photographing this lovely little town, particularly the long exposures at night. If you’re ever looking for a getaway town in Florida, I recommend this one on Amelia Island.
